Turkey Trot!
Posted by mandy on September 30th, 2009Autumnal Greetings, Athletes!
Hope you all have had a spectacular season. We’ve just added another race to the line-up. Yes, it is eco-friendly and for charity purposes, but it is also a nice way to wind down the season and burn off those Turkey-Day calories!
for the Saturday November 28, 2009 5k race in Steep Rock Preserve (Riding Ring) in Washington Depot, CT
This super, duper, beyond flat course traverses the dirt road that runs along the Shepaug River in Steep Rock. You run out to the Bridge and back.
Long Sleeve tees to all participants. Awesome awards, cookies, cider and fun to ensue.
9 AM start time and race-day reg will be available starting at 7:30 AM. As always, carpool if possible.
Walkers welcome and may start earlier if requested.
Awards for our fastest “Family Man or Woman” – Run with a baby jogger and you could win some sweet schwag.
We’ll also have some other fun prizes – carry a frozen turkey across the line and get a cash reward…and the turkey!
Crazy costumes encouraged.
Happy Fall and we hope to see you out on the road!
Mandy B.

Always love to get feedback - especially when positive! Many thanks for your kind words and yes, we are hoping to keep this race going (and growing) for years to come.
Thanks again for coming out!
Have a great rest of 2009!
The First Annual Turkey Trot 5k was a fun, well planned race. The course was well marked, volunteers were friendly, and there was a good mix of ages and abilities among runners. Raffle prizes were many and high quality, and post-race food was better than many races. I hope this one becomes a tradition!
